HAPPY NEW YEAR to all H.O.W Partners, 2024 is here!! Glory to God, we made it!
We send this report with our hearts full of gratitude to God for an exceptionally fruitful 2023, albeit challenging! One key highlight of 2023 was the 15th Anniversary of the establishment of House of Wells in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, which we celebrated in every Centre with cakes and chocolates for the children.
The journey has been tough, but the lives of numerous children and teenagers that have been, and continue to be, changed across South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Ghana and Nigeria, through House of Wells, is well worth it!!
Our appreciation is firstly to God, but also to you our generous partners and to the amazing, God-sent Team that we have been blessed with in all the 7 nations. They are dedicated, anointed and passionate staff members who always give their best. We are also blessed with a divine cohesion among our staff members that makes “Team House of Wells” a solidly united family. Glory to God.
MATRIC RESULTS and UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS
We thank God for our teenagers who passed their final High School examinations.
**In Port Elizabeth (South Africa) – Neliseka, Vuyolwam, Lilitha and Nomtha’s excellent MATRIC results qualify them for admission to a Bachelor’s degree at University or a Diploma/Higher Certificate study in 2024. These four teenagers have benefited from the weekly H.O.W Tuition Classes since grade 9.
**In H.O.W. Nigeria – Victoria (17) has gained admission to study Economics at University in 2024.
Through the generous donations of our partners over the years, House of Wells has supported these teenagers and many others. We are grateful to VITAE London (a UK-based wristwatch company) and other donors who contribute specifically towards the funding for our TUITION CENTRES.
2023 CHRISTMAS FOOD HAMPERS
The preparation and fundraising period for the annual Christmas food packs is always a hectic time of the year for us, but the Fundraising for the 2023 Christmas hampers proved to be the toughest so far. We had to raise funds for over 3000 children’s hampers, and as at three weeks to the deadline, we had only secured half of the total funds needed.
Our faith was stretched, but our confidence in the faithfulness of the One who called us, was strengthened. In the end, all the funds needed were provided miraculously, as we saw God touch the hearts of so many individuals, companies and churches around the world.
We are eternally grateful to everyone, for bringing a smile to 3,020 House of Wells children and their families.
In South Africa (Port Elizabeth and Cape Town), around 2000 children and teenagers received Food Hampers. 320 hampers were given out in Uganda, 190 in Nigeria, 205 hampers in Ghana, 30 in Zimbabwe, 25 in Malawi and 250 children received Food Hampers in Kenya.
Over the past 15 years, we have seen how the food hampers that we give to these children have been a blessing to them and their families.
The children were very grateful for the food hampers, with many parents writing to us, and some even meeting us in person, to express their gratitude. The love of God has been shared, lives have been touched, potentials have been released and memories have been written on the children’s hearts.
What a privilege to be an extension of God’s hands to reach these children with the love of Christ! God’s love was demonstrated in action to those who may have been forgotten by society. We are grateful to all our partners – every individual, Church and organisation that donated towards these food hampers. May God bless and replenish you mightily.

OUR TUITION CENTRES :-
At HOUSE OF WELLS, we are passionate about giving our young people all the assistance and tools they need to excel in their education. This was one of the reasons we set up our Tuition Centres in 2012 in South Africa, then in Zimbabwe, and later in Kenya.
For students struggling with a particular subject, it is often difficult for teachers in the schools in the townships to give them the adequate attention and support that they need. The private tutors we employ can identify where a student is having trouble and are able to use a variety of methods that can help the students to grasp difficult concepts. These tutors assist our teenagers with exam techniques and work with them to hone their skills and knowledge, to ensure that they achieve the grades they are aiming for.
Our TUITION CENTRE in P.E.; South Africa, currently has 15 teenagers attending four days a week.
45 children attend the House of Wells’ TUITION CENTRE in Kenya every Saturday. Initially, we were providing Mathematics, English and Kiswahili lessons, but we later added Social Studies; Christian Religious Education (CRE); and Science & Technology, as we realised that the children needed urgent assistance in these subjects too. We are very encouraged with the level of improvement in the children’s grades.
A few success stories:
**H.O.W Kenya – Evans and Samuel, who previously had poor grades in Mathematics and English, excelled in those subjects by the end of 2023 School year.
**H.O.W Walmer – Awethu (16), Grade 10 – Her performance in Mathematics went from level 2 to level 4 at the end of 2023 due to the help that she received at H.O.W Tuition Classes. She was, therefore, promoted to Grade 11 at school.
**H.O.W Kleinskool – Vinett (15) – She and her sister live with their adopted parents, their mother abandoned them when they were very young. She joined the Maths classes at H.O.W. and her grade improved from level 1 to level 3.
**H.O.W Kwazakhele – Nomtha has been in House of Wells since she was in primary school. She is now in High School, grade 11. She used to struggle with Mathematics and Accounting before she joined the H.O.W Tuition Class in 2022. Since then there has been a massive improvement in her grades. She said that the classes gave her better understanding and clarity so much that she got a level 5 in Accounting in the first Term of 2023, and a level 6 by the end of 2023.
