QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER – April to June 2022
Dear H.O.W. PARTNERS, every week, the lives of numerous children are being transformed by God, through House of Wells, and you are a key part of that. We are immensely grateful for your ongoing and unwavering support. May the Lord give you a bountiful harvest of the seed you are sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness. THANK YOU!
OUR FIRST GRADUATE!!
On 26th June, we met with 5 (out of 15) of our young people who are in University/Tertiary Institutions in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. We thank God that they are all progressing well in their studies and on course to finish strong. Nomvuyisi, who finished her Course in 2021, also attended the meeting. Below is her story: –
“I am Nomvuyisi Wanyaza, 21 years old. I joined HOW in 2013 when I was in grade 7. HOW enhanced my relationship with God, they taught me how to pray and invite God into everything that I do. I have learned to be humble, yet confident in my faith in God. The House of Wells Tuition Classes was a blessing to me, as it helped to improve my grades in High School and as a result, I got admission into university.
I started at Nelson Mandela University in 2019, at first I struggled a bit to adjust to the new environment, but God helped me. I was glad to meet 3 friends, who were on the same course as me (Human Resources Management), and they are all Christians. We set up a WhatsApp study group, but we also used the group to share scriptures and pray together, which I found very helpful. I finished my course in 2021 and started my postgraduate (advanced diploma) this year. It has been a bumpy road, but I am grateful to have godly people around me who have been of help to me”.
UPDATE – We thank God for the launch of more Enrichment Centres in various locations, over the past few months. As at the end of June 2022, H.O.W has 30 Enrichment Centres across 5 Nations, reaching out to around 2,700 children and young people :-
In South Africa – 23 Enrichment Centres with 1900 children and young people
Zimbabwe – 1 Enrichment Centre with 130 children and young people
Uganda – 3 Enrichment Centres – 343 children and young people
Kenya – 2 Enrichment Centres – 138 children and young people
Nigeria – 1 Enrichment Centre – 185 children and young people
LESSONS this quarter include topics such as “Prayer”, “Meeting Together” and “Watch Your Words”. The lessons reinforced the concepts of prayer and what it comprises, importance of fellowship, gathering of saints and the creative power of spoken words.
PRECIOUS SIGHT FOUNDATION sponsors Eye Screening
PRECIOUS SIGHT FOUNDATION (PSF) is a UK based organisation. PSF has been in partnership with H.O.W since 2015 to give our children and young people free eye screening, treatment and spectacles.
As a result of this partnership, 167 children in our Uganda Centres and 90 in Kenya have had their sight tested between April and June this year. In Kenya, out of the 90 that were screened, 9 had further tests and treatment at the Eye Hospital, 5 received glasses and 1 had surgery. All these were paid for by PSF. We pray that God will richly bless Mrs Biyi Adewumi and everyone at Precious Sight Foundation UK.
VITAE LONDON funds H.O.W TUITION CLASSES
Vitae London has been supporting House of Wells since 2015, and their CEO William Adoasi and his Team have been on mission trips to H.O.W Centres in South Africa on 3 or 4 occasions. From each watch that they sell, Vitae London donates a percentage to House of Wells to buy school uniforms, shoes and other school requirements for the children. Their logo is “YOUR WATCH, THEIR FUTURE – each watch bought supports a child through education”. A real, positive impact is being made in the lives of H.O.W children, as hundreds of them have benefitted (and still benefit) from the sales of Vitae watches.
In 2021, Vitae extended their partnership and started to contribute towards our tuition classes in various nations, where professional teachers give quality tutoring to our teenagers in grades 10 to 12, in key subjects including Mathematics, Science and Accounting. We pray that God will richly bless Vitae London and continually breathe on their business, in Jesus’ name. Please support them – www.vitaelondon.com.

UPDATE & TESTIMONIES FROM EACH REGION
HOUSE OF WELLS South Africa
PRAISE REPORT from School Teachers :-
- A letter from one of the schools in P.E. South Africa – “My name is Vania Murphy, a Grade R teacher at Kleinskool Primary School. Since H.O.W started their programmes at our school, there has been a huge difference in the community. The behaviour of some of the children at the school has changed, they are more disciplined, caring and tolerant of each other. It is not just the food packs, shoes or clothes that draw the children to H.O.W, they are also being taught biblical principles for living. The H.O.W leaders are fantastic in the way they teach the Bible stories. H.O.W is training our children in the way they should go, and we trust God that they would not depart from it”.
- In one of the schools that we use in P.E. South Africa, a teacher asked us to pray for her regarding the pain in her legs. Three weeks later she testified that the pain had completely gone. She gave glory to God and said that a lot of things have started to improve in the school because of H.O.W being there. All the teachers are very supportive of the H.O.W programme, and sometimes accompany the children to the venue.
FEEDBACK FROM CENTRES:-
**The Miracle of Healing – The grandmother of 7-year-old Angelique, came to our Centre to testify of her healing. She told us that she had excruciating pain in both legs and could not walk for weeks. Angelique prayed for her using the scriptures she had learned from H.O.W and told her grandmother to have faith and not doubt, because God will surely heal her. It was so! Praise Jesus!
**A Sangoma (Witchdoctor) showed up at Walmer Centre – At our Mpoza Centre, while the children were worshiping, a 13-year-old Sangoma came wearing their traditional outfit. She has traditional painting all over her face and body. As Pastor Kemi saw her, she started to pray in the Spirit and then led the children in a prayer declaring Jesus as LORD. She asked the children to repeat the declarations after her. Pastor Kemi also asked the girl to say the prayers, she became very restless and tried to distract the other children. All the leaders continued to pray violently in the Spirit. Pastor Kemi again told her to say that Jesus is LORD, the girl started to mumble at first and after a few seconds she opened her mouth and declared loudly that Jesus is LORD! Our meeting then continued powerfully with no disruption. Praise God.
Our leaders said that when sangomas show up like that, usually their intention is to cause fear and commotion, so that the children start to scream and run. We thank God that we overcame the plans of the enemy by the blood of Jesus Christ and the word of our testimony. We took that evil spirit captive and made it to bow in obedience to Christ (2 Cor 10:5). Halleluyah!
In Cape Town :-
- The power of God is really manifesting upon the lives of the children, especially the teenagers, who have been sharing with us the different ways that they have been applying the lessons in their daily lives.
- We took the teenagers on a tour of various historical sites that they have previously not had the opportunity to visit. They had a wonderful experience.
- At our Centre in Imbasa, the school referred a boy, who was very unruly and mischievous, to our programme. He attended for a while and left, but we kept praying for him. He returned a few days later and said “something” brought him back. His behaviour has greatly improved, he now invites friends to HOW.
HOUSE OF WELLS UGANDA
Pastors Richard and Kemi visited the two House of Wells Centres in Uganda, in May. They visited the homes of about 25 children and ministered to the children and their families. Each family was blessed with food packs.
In June, 73 children in Busawuula Centre and 120 in Lusaze, celebrated the 50th birthday of a dear woman of God who has supported so many orphans in H.O.W Uganda. Maama Ify, as she is fondly called by H.O.W children, has been and continues to be a blessing to the children in HOW Uganda. She has fed, clothed, and paid the school fees for many children, especially orphans, who had no hope of going back to school. Maama Ify said she wanted all the children in H.O.W Uganda to celebrate her birthday with her, and she ensured that they all had scrumptious meal and a food hamper to take home.
We cannot thank Maama Ify enough, we pray that God will bless her with His blessings that make rich and add no sorrow, in Jesus’ mighty name. We pray that on this special milestone she will experience a greater measure of God’s divine grace and she will celebrate more years in great health and with sound mind, Amen.
HOUSE OF WELLS KENYA
We believe it is possible for every child in House of Wells to receive good quality education, and that they should be assisted in every way possible to achieve good grades. Since 2017, the children that we have been able to assist through our tuition programme in South Africa, have benefitted from one-to-one academic attention and personalised lesson plans that specifically address their weaker subject areas.
These Tuition classes have now started in H.O.W Kenya, in June. The classes are every Tuesday for children in lower grade and on Fridays for those in primary school. For our teenagers, the classes will be held during the August school holidays, as some of them are in boarding school.
HOUSE OF WELLS ZIMBABWE
Our programmes resumed on the 14th of May after putting them on hold due to the unstable political climate in Kwekwe.
Pastor Richard and Pastor Kemi were in H.O.W Kwekwe in June. They brought the message of hope and encouragement to the children. There were various activities including poetry, scripture recitals, memory verse competitions and gifts for the winners.
They had separate meetings with the teenagers, and discussed biblical life orientation topics with them. We trust God that these biblical principles would help to set our young people on the right path to a wholesome and promising future.
HOUSE OF WELLS NIGERIA
**God continues to be faithful in H.O.W Nigeria. The number of children on our register has grown from 89 children in February to 183 at the end of June.
The children are always excited about the word of God and they love hearing it. They enjoy the practical demonstrations of every topic we teach and the fact that they get to participate in the different dramas, puzzles etc that we use to make the lessons interactive and fun. All the children (of various age groups) are able to participate and enjoy the lessons, they assimilate the lessons easily as they themselves act it. Hearing them summarise the classes during end-of-week revision confirms that they imbibe it and keep it in their heart.
**TESTIMONY – One of our children in HOW Nigeria left home for school, but the School called her parents asking why she was not in school that day. The family contacted the H.O.W leaders who joined the search and did all they could but to no avail. Our leaders then decided to go back to the Centre and pray. To God be the glory, she returned home safe and sound that evening. Halleluyah!
